Working on a farm, work field trips are a lot more fun than in most other jobs. Since the company I work for this summer is a hand painted merino yarn company, Koigu Wool Designs, Keady market, right outside of Owen Sound, was the perfect place to go as a staff to see some sheepies. Meanwhile we spotted flowers and bought fresh ontario strawberries.
Sadly, the day we ventured to Keady early in the morning was rainy and glum but it gave us an excuse to huddle with our patterned umbrellas.
Look at these adorable little fluffs ready to be sold to a new home!
Keady was also my first time seeing a live stock auction! The cows are sold at a price per pound, and for a lot more money than I would have expected! The room was full of old men in denim overalls that could miraculously understand and react to the ridiculously high speed that the auctioneers speak at. The cows seemed well treated to me so don't you worry :)
Definitely stop by Keady Market on a sunny day in the summer when in the Grey County, Owen Sound area!
xx,
Merike
